The Field Guide and a new Help centre

Two hundred practical guides to gradients, colour and design, and a Help centre that finds the answer wherever it lives.

    • The Field Guide holds 200 practical guides, each one in all 12 languages.
    • The Help centre has one search across answers, guides and docs.
    • Send a support request and follow it until it is answered.
    • Developer docs cover the Gradiently API and the MCP server for AI agents.

    Favourite the Marks you like

Heart a Mark to keep it close. Counts are public, but who favourited stays private.

    • A heart with a count sits on every Mark card and Mark page.
    • Well loved Marks carry a Popular badge.
    • The Market can be sorted by Most loved.
    • Your favourites have their own page in Settings, with filters and Undo.
    • You hear when a Mark you favourited is claimed, and creators hear when their Marks are loved.

A new logo, and emails you choose one by one

Gradiently has a new logo, and every optional email now has its own switch.

    • The new logo is a white fold on a Lilac Ember gradient.
    • Settings, Notifications lists every optional email with its own Email and In-app switch, and says why essential emails always send.
    • Each email can be turned off from the email itself with one click.
    • Emails show the Mark they are about across the top, with real design thumbnails.
    • Summaries arrive in your morning, in your own time zone, and a weekly This week on Gradiently rounds up new Marks.
    • Choose Email me this when exporting, or send a design to someone by email.

    Match a picture

Drop in a photo or screenshot and find a Mark that fits it, or get new ones made from it.

    • The picture's palette appears the moment you drop it.
    • Close Marks already in the Market are shown first: claim an unclaimed one, or see who owns it.
    • Three new Marks are then fitted to the picture, ready to claim.
    • A new material, Point Mesh, places each colour where the picture has it.
    • A claim too close to someone else's Mark is refused, so every Mark stays its owner's.

Faster pages, and the Studio on phones

Live Marks appear from their first frame, and the Studio's tools are all reachable on a phone or tablet.

    • Live Marks no longer hold up the page while they get ready.
    • Pictures and the Explore board load from a fast image network.
    • On phones and tablets, a More menu holds Comments, Present, Find and replace and Version history.
    • Comments work on touch.
    • A prompt typed on Home opens the Designer on any device, shows its progress and offers Try again.
    • Small labels on templates are measured against the Mark behind them so they stay readable.

    Profiles, following and free claims

Everyone gets a public profile, and claiming a Mark is free while Gradiently launches.

    • Your profile lives at your username and shows the Marks you created, your designs and your templates.
    • Follow people and hear when they publish a new Mark.
    • The Market leads with its best Marks, with visual filters, code search and More like this.
    • Claim a Mark for free and it is registered to you; nobody else can claim it.
    • A Brand page keeps your name, website, logos, palettes, fonts and voice for the Studio and the Designer to use.

The Studio edits like a real editor

Selection, dragging, cropping and text gradients now behave the way you expect.

    • Select several things and the floating bar offers Group, Align, Duplicate and Delete, with one box to scale and rotate them.
    • Drag photos, uploads, elements or files from your computer onto the page; drop a picture on a picture to replace it.
    • Crop freely with handles, aspect presets and thirds guides, and change it later.
    • Nearly 200 text gradients, suggested by how readable they are over what sits behind the text.
    • A template added from the panel lands as a new page, fitted to your size.
    • Leave comments on a design and reply to them.

20,000 Marks, and a design library in Explore

The Market now holds 20,000 Marks made by Gradiently, and Explore has ready-made designs for them.

    • 20,000 Marks made by Gradiently, each one of a kind, are in the Market to claim.
    • Explore has ready-made designs across formats and kinds of business.
    • Use any design as a new design, or have it made again for your own Mark and size.
    • Swap the Mark on a template and it follows the new colours.
    • Templates others share appear alongside Gradiently's own.

    • Email

    Gradiently in 12 languages

The whole app, its emails and its messages now speak your language.

    • English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese for Portugal and Brazil, Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian and Finnish.
    • Choose your language in Settings or in the footer; the page switches in place without losing what you typed.
    • If your browser prefers one of these languages, Gradiently asks once whether to switch.
    • Emails and error messages arrive in your language.
    • The Designer writes the words on your designs in the language you choose.

    Google sign-in, two-step sign-in and a short welcome

Signing up and keeping your account safe are both quicker and clearer.

    • Continue with Google on sign-in and sign-up.
    • New accounts answer four short questions, and a card built from the answers fills in as you go.
    • Two-step sign-in with an authenticator app, backup codes and trusted devices.
    • Language and region settings cover country, time zone and units.
    • Download your data from Settings at any time.

A new Home, one brand at a time

Home now centres on one brand and its Marks, with every size one click away.

    • Switch brands at the top of the side panel.
    • The top of Home is painted with your brand's Mark and asks what you will design today.
    • Create, or the C key, opens every size plus a custom size in px, mm, cm or inches.
    • Select several designs to move or delete them, with Undo.
    • On phones, a floating tab bar keeps Create in the middle.
    • Forge
    • Marks

The Forge, rebuilt around a side panel

Making a Mark now follows ten clear steps down the left, with a short tour on your first visit.

    • Ten sections in order: Start, Material, Colour, Layers, Light, Motion, Particles, Type, Reaction and Explore.
    • Each panel says in one line what it changes, with Back and Next at the foot.
    • A short tour points at the real controls and never blocks them.
    • Try words puts your own words on the Mark to see how they read.
    • Zoom into the canvas and move around at full sharpness.
    • Every colour in a Mark now has a job.

    • Export

The Forge becomes a Mark editor of its own

See a Mark by itself, in any format and at any size, and keep every version of it.

    • The stage shows the Mark alone, a sheet of every format at once, or the Mark carrying test words.
    • Custom sizes take px, inches, cm or mm, with DPI and a ratio lock.
    • Export up to 16K as PNG, JPEG or WebP, or as a looping video, with progress and cancel.
    • Fifty new materials, 82 in all, each with named styles to start from.
    • Versions are kept as you work: preview, restore, rename or compare them.

    • Designer

A Designer that knows where you are

Ask about this page, this layer or this colour, and the Designer knows what you mean.

    • Each message carries the page, layer, colour or selection you are on, and a chip shows what this refers to.
    • Ask for a set of designs from one prompt; they appear in your Mark's workspace as they are made, and Stop works.
    • Each reply is one undo step, restoring every page it touched.
    • A dropped connection or a reload picks the reply up where it was.
    • Edit this design only, or the Mark itself, and attach, drag or paste pictures into the chat.

    • Export

Brand fonts, tables, charts and more ways to export

The Studio now covers the everyday jobs of a full design tool.

    • Upload your brand fonts and logos and use them in every design.
    • Tables, charts, QR codes, freehand drawing and SVG import.
    • Export as PDF, including print PDFs with bleed and crop marks, as SVG with live text, as GIF, or as PNG with a transparent background.
    • Page transitions and timing drive Present and multi-page video.
    • Links and alt text on any element.
    • A new colour picker with gradients, palette editing and your brand colours, and a real Resize.
    • Studio

Design and Mark modes, and a command palette

One Studio for your design and the Mark behind it, with quick ways to reach every tool.

    • Switch between Design and Mark in the same Studio, on the same live canvas.
    • The command palette (⌘K or /) finds actions, sizes, fonts, icons, templates and Marks as you type.
    • Find and replace across every page.
    • A page grid to reorder, duplicate and delete pages, and Present for full screen.
    • Design versions are kept as you save, and saves stay safe across tabs and teammates.
    • Brands hold several Marks, each with its own designs.

    Meet the Designer

Say what you need and the Designer makes it in your brand, on your Mark.

    • Describe a design in plain words and it is laid out for you.
    • The Designer starts from Gradiently's hand-made designs and makes them your own.
    • It can make and edit Marks too, in the Studio and in the Forge.
    • Blank designs open with the Designer ready.
    • The Mark keeps every word readable behind the text it places.

Shapes, frames, photos, icons and animation

The Studio gains the building blocks of a full design editor.

    • A toolbar that follows what you select, with font search, text effects, lists and spacing.
    • Shapes with borders and text, lines with arrow ends, and photo frames you drop pictures into.
    • A Photos panel of free commercial-use photos, credited for you, and more than 1,600 line icons.
    • Multi-page designs; export one page or every page at once.
    • Curved text, rulers with guides, and copy and paste style.
    • Animate elements with nine entrances, which play in video exports too.

Lettering, a new colour picker and a faster Explore

Type that belongs to the Mark, colours that start from it, and a gallery to try designs from.

    • Lettering treatments drawn from the shapes of the letters themselves.
    • A Solid and Gradient colour picker that starts from your Mark's palette, with curated palettes and an eyedropper.
    • Gradient fills for text and shapes, in the Studio and in exports.
    • Every layer of a Mark can be adjusted on a design: material, blend, strength and exposure.
    • Explore is a fast gallery of real designs you can open and try.

The new Gradiently: Studio, Forge and Market

Gradiently is rebuilt around Marks: living gradient backgrounds you design on, make and claim.

    • A full canvas Studio on a living Mark, with words, pictures, shapes, groups, a right-click menu and keyboard shortcuts.
    • The Mark re-forms itself around your words so they stay sharp and readable, and letters can be filled with a material.
    • Export as an image or a video; videos loop without a seam.
    • The Market is a board of Marks with filters and endless scroll, and you can try a Mark on a design before claiming it.
    • Seven new materials: Nebula, Dune, Smoke, Caustic, Prism, Bloom and Terrazzo.
    • Share a design to X or LinkedIn, by email, or with a link.
