The short version
- In Gradiently you can resize a design for all platforms in one step by choosing several sizes and using Copy and resize.
- Each new size is laid out again for its own shape, and the original design stays as it was.
- Every copy is a separate design you can adjust on its own, so a shorter line on the banner never touches the story.
- Resizing to every size in one step is part of Pro; choosing one new size is free.
- Custom sizes from 200 to 8,000 pixels work alongside every common platform size.
On this page
To resize design for all platforms in one step in Gradiently, open Resize, select every size you need and choose Copy and resize. You get one new design per size, each laid out again for its own shape, sitting beside the original, which stays untouched. Resizing to many sizes at once is part of Pro; picking one new size is free on any plan. The rest of this page is the routine, the sizes to pick and the checks to do afterwards.
Before you resize: finish one design properly
Resizing multiplies whatever you give it, mistakes included. Get one design right in the format that matters most to you, usually the Instagram post at 1080×1350, then copy it out. Three things to settle first:
- The words are final. Changing a headline after making ten copies means changing it ten times.
- The hierarchy is clear. One headline, one supporting line, one call to action. Extra lines are what break in short, wide formats.
- The logo is placed with margin. It needs space around it in every shape, not just this one.
Why stretching fails, and how each shape wants its own layout, is covered in one look at every size. This page is the practical routine.
How to resize a design for every platform, step by step
- 1
Open Resize
In the Studio, choose Resize. The panel shows the design's current size at the top.
- 2
Find your sizes
Search by platform or size, such as Instagram story, A4 or 1080 × 1920, or browse the categories. Sizes you use often can be starred into Favourites, and recent ones gather on their own.
- 3
Select several
Tick every size the campaign needs. Each appears in the selected list with its pixel dimensions.
- 4
Check the selection
Look down the list before you commit. Dropping a size you will never post is quicker than deleting a design later.
- 5
Choose Copy and resize
Gradiently makes one new design per size, beside the original. The original stays exactly as it was.
- 6
Polish each copy
Open each one and make the small edits only that format needs. Changes to one copy never touch the others.
Which sizes to pick for a full campaign
You rarely need everything. Pick the set that matches where your audience actually is. A sensible starting set for a launch or an event looks like this.

What happens to the background and the words
In most tools the background is an image, so resizing crops or stretches it. A Mark is a recipe drawn fresh at each size, so the story gets a composition made for a tall frame and the email header gets one made for a wide frame. The words move into the arrangement that suits the shape, and the Mark makes room for them wherever they land, while Auto ink picks light or dark type again for each line.
The original: a portrait Instagram post.
Copied to an X post: the words run across rather than stack, and the Mark recomposes for the wide frame.
Custom sizes and print
If a size isn't on the list, type it. Custom sizes run from 200 to 8,000 pixels on each side, and you can lock the shape while you change one dimension. For print you can type paper sizes such as 210 × 297 mm; print presets such as the A4 poster, A5 flyer and postcard are set at 300 dpi. When you export print copies on Pro, choose print PDF for bleed and crop marks, explained in print bleed and margins.
A checklist for every resized set
Common slips
- A headline that wraps to four lines on a wide banner
- Text under the profile photo on a header
- Words in roughly a story's top or bottom 250 px
- A logo that shrank with a small canvas
Check each copy for
- A shorter headline on wide, short formats
- Clear space where platforms overlay buttons or photos
- Key words in the middle band of vertical formats
- The same relative logo size across the set
Each platform puts its own buttons and labels over your design. Social media safe zones shows where, and Instagram Story size has the story numbers in detail.
Letting the Designer make the sizes
If you'd rather describe than click, the Designer can make other sizes for you as part of a request, such as "make this as a story and a LinkedIn post too". It lays them out in your Mark the same way. And if you need many versions of one design with different words rather than different sizes, that is a job for bulk create from a spreadsheet.
