A VistaCreate alternative built around a look you own

VistaCreate makes it quick to post something that looks finished. The catch is that thousands of other accounts can post the same thing. Here is a different way to start.

The short version

  • VistaCreate, formerly called Crello, is an online design tool from Depositphotos known for ready-made templates, animated designs and a large stock library.
  • Gradiently is a design tool where every design sits on a Mark, a living gradient and material background with exactly one owner at a time.
  • Templates in Gradiently take on the Mark you choose, so the same layout looks like your brand rather than everyone's.
  • Marks move, and Gradiently Pro exports designs as MP4, WebM or GIF where the browser supports recording.
  • A useful test before switching is to rebuild one recurring post on a Mark and compare it with your current version side by side.

A good VistaCreate alternative is one that fixes the thing that sent you looking. For most brands that is sameness: VistaCreate's templates are quick and polished, and that is exactly why the same layouts turn up on so many feeds. Gradiently starts each design from a Mark, a living gradient and material background that one brand owns at a time, so a template becomes yours the moment it wears your Mark. If you mostly need a fast library of ready posts, VistaCreate does that well. If you need a look nobody else can export, Gradiently is built for it.

VistaCreate in brief

VistaCreate began life as Crello before it was renamed. It comes from Depositphotos, the stock photo company, which explains two of its strengths: a deep library of photos, videos and vectors, and a large catalogue of templates for social posts, stories, ads and print. It is well known for animated templates, has a brand kit for logos, colours and fonts, and runs in the browser and on phones.

For a small business that needs something on Instagram by lunchtime, that is a sensible toolkit. The trouble appears over months, not minutes. When your customers see a layout on your feed and then on a competitor's, the post stops saying anything about you. Stand out on social media explains the pattern.

Three questions to ask before you switch

  1. Would a regular customer know a post is yours with the logo covered? If not, the template is doing the talking.
  2. How often do you rebuild the same design for another size? If it is weekly, resizing should be one step, not five.
  3. Do your words fight the background? If you keep adding boxes and shadows to make text readable, the background is working against you.

If you answered no, often and yes, read on. If not, the tool you have may already suit you.

Templates that take on your Mark

Gradiently has templates too: posts, stories, posters, menus, cards and wallpapers, with the full library on Pro. The difference is what sits behind them. A Mark is a recipe of colours, up to three stacked materials, light, grain, motion and a type voice, and it renders live under every layout. Swap your Mark into a template and the background, the mood and the type voice change together. Free design templates on your Mark shows the swap.

Every Mark is crafted by Gradiently and checked against every other, and anything too close is refused. You can design with any Mark nobody has claimed, for free. Claiming one makes you its only owner, with a numbered certificate, and only you can export with it. Claiming is a one-time payment that includes the first year of keeping; after that, keeping is free with Pro or a yearly fee per Mark without it.

Moving posts without animated templates

VistaCreate's animated templates are a big reason people choose it. In Gradiently the motion lives in the Mark itself: light drifts and materials shift slowly behind still words, which tends to look calmer and more expensive than elements flying in. Text can still rise, pop, wipe or type itself in when you want it to. Animated Instagram posts covers how much motion a post needs.

A brand kit that does more than store colours

Both tools keep your logo, colours and fonts in one place. Gradiently's brand kit also holds a description, voice, audience and what the brand does, and it can read your website to fill in the name, description, colour and icon. The Designer, Gradiently's AI, then writes copy in that voice and lays designs out in your Mark. Here is what a small café's kit palette might hold.

Brand kit setup walks through each field, including uploading your own heading and body font files.

One design, every size

With Pro, copy to sizes lays a finished design out again for each format in one step, and the Mark renders fresh at each size rather than being cropped. Choosing one new size is free. A weekly offer can go from a feed post to a story, a Facebook cover and a Google Business post in a single pass.

How to test Gradiently against VistaCreate

  1. 1

    Choose a post you repeat

A weekly special, a new arrival or an opening hours update works well.

  2. 2

    Rebuild it on a Mark

Search the Market by colour words such as "forest green", pick a Mark and swap it into a matching template.

  3. 3

Put both versions side by side

Show them to someone who knows your business. Ask which one looks like you.

  4. 4

    Decide with real posts

Free lets you keep three designs, enough for an honest test. Claim the Mark only when you are sure.
